The meditating and prayer is our stretching phase and warm up
- now for the actual "workout".... The workout will bring the power into our
lives to do the will of God; conquering the darkness all around us. In this case
it is to cover sin with love so TRUTH (God's Word) can do its perfect work in us and people around us -the blind seeing - the deaf hearing- bondages broken, healing and revival
with God.
One thing I noticed as people have talked to
me about this exercise is that they focus on the result - for example, we
focus on the "covering of the sin" and start in on the questions that arise as
we focus on the result (what I should have done in a particular situation or what
I should do) without doing the workout which is really is what
brings us:
1. His will. The wisdom from God on what He wants me to do.
For example
Is there someone in my life right now where God wants me to cover sin with love?
What exactly does God want me to do?
2. His power. This is the strength from His Spirit that allows us to do His will.
For example
How can I love in a situation where I really feel more HATE than anything else?
Does God want me to force or fake love regardless of my feelings? (hint: fake = hypocracy = bad)
3. Him. Do not forget a great benefit in this exercise is that you are developing your relationship with God!
For example
The exercises encourage listening. This is a big part where you are ACTUALLY HEARING GOD!
The excercises encourage a focus in His strength - YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED AT HIS STRENGTH!
God tells us what the workout involves - love. Love has to be
flowing in from the Lord and doing a work in me to prepare me to be able to
cover sin properly. Here we go! Please do this at least once a day,
preferably early:
1. Go into your workout room (a private place
- with as little interruptions as possible - cell off!). If you would
like to, wrap a blanket around you to help remind you of Gods
love covering YOU.
2. Speak these verses out loud.
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Rom 5:3 And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Rom 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of
God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Eph 3:16 That he would grant
you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his
Spirit in the inner man;
Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Eph 3:21 Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
3. Rest quietly before the Lord and allow whatever is inside to pour out
to Him, prayer , song, words without understanding, utterances,
quietness.
4. Sing in agreement with the
special song "Shadow of Your Wings" (see link on top of page) - Let the
awareness of the richness of His love covering you GROW and GROW.
5. Go back to our power verse Proverbs 10:12 and read it in faith. Agree with God this is part of who you are by His grace
Enjoy the Lord!
Jesus tells us in Matt 7 that he who hears these words of mine and DOES them is a wise man that built his house on the ROCK. We can go forth now in the POWER OF HIS STENGTH! The same covering of LOVE that is worked into you can now be directed as living water unto others...
1. Agree and affirm with the Lord that HATRED PRODUCES STRIFE (STRESS and GARBAGE), declare it to be crucified by the power of His death on the cross.
2. Pray to the Lord to open your eyes to the naked and decaying (uncovered) people around you. Write down names in a prayer book if desired.
3. Wait on the Lord for wisdom. As situations arise it is of utmost importance to work out from a heart prepared in the love of God. If we are bewildered and confused over dealing with a particular sin in someones life relax and pray to the Lord for wisdom, knowing your heart has been prepared in Love so the rest will flow in His grace.
As you are waiting on the Lord for wisdom, work on 1 COR 13 verses, I suggest reading them slowly and quietly to yourself..listening for the Lord to illuminate His words into the action He wants you to take.
1Cr 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Cr 13:2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and
understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so
that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
1Cr 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the
poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth
me nothing.
1Cr 13:4 love suffereth long, [and] is kind; love
envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Cr 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not
her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Cr 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in
the truth;
1Cr 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things,
hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1Cr 13:8 love never faileth:
4. Apply the cover. Express love to this indvidual and allow God's grace and truth and ressurection power to bring life and healing to this individual - and in many cases SALVATION! Do not go expecting anything in return from the individual whatsoever - your "returns" (and results) come from ABOVE. You are an instrument in the hands of God - GO!
Repeat the process from Warm-up , to Work-In, to Work-Out as a much as
possible!
