Two Dreams, One night, One Message.

1Pe 2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

 Sat Feb 01 2009....

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. To God be the glory for ever and ever. Please read and be encouraged in the Lord!

Paul M.

My dream started in a pleasant place with familiar people and family;  some kind of christian gathering other than our own church....

It was getting near time for our own church service to start and I let my wife Gretchen know I was going to get
the truck so we could get going...

That's when the obstacles started coming. What began as a walk out to a
parking lot, turned into a climb up a very steep vertical mountain....

On the way up the mountain was a very young child whom I began to try to help,

...it was then I noticed a sore on the child's belly with a bug crawling in it. The reality of this thing was
clear - this was not a child but something corrupt - a demon?

I had to get by this "thing" and reach my destination. There was an increasingly strong urgency to preach the gospel
and that was driving me forward. And so the seemingly long, drawn-out battle began; although it was one of word and not physical. The battle became more about my faith in the power of Jesus Christ directed into those words. The words were very simply... Jesus, Jesus...

The power increased over this demonic stronghold until it was completely defeated. I was mostly aware of and focused on increasing the faith I had in Jesus Christ more until the resistance gave way....  This was a very significant part of this dream being able to draw from the well of His power that was surging and growing within me...

I climbed and climbed the mountain and finally reached the top; all the time knowing I had a job to do...to preach the gospel.

A building was now in front of me. I knew somewhere inside was where I needed
to be to proceed with the work I was so compelled to do.  I entered the building...

This building was full of confusion, doors that led to nowhere, people that misdirected me and were
just as confusing as the building layout was.

Finally, I arrived at the room which I knew was my destination!

In this room there was a group of what seemed to resemble people in the most awful state
you could imagine with numerous deformities, raw wounds and great suffering.

I was embraced by one in an extremely perverted way
which I pushed off. I then began preaching the power of Jesus; the power over sin and disease.

Jesus..... Jesus.... Jesus

I must have said the name of Jesus a hundred times if not more. That's all I could say. But again it was more than the words themselves. It wasn't as if the words alone had the power. It was the presence of the One who stood behind the words.

My faith in Jesus grew stronger with each spoken word until the transformation of the people started; one right after
another. They became sane, clean, fresh, and full of rejoicing...

Then I was awoken by someone , I told them the dream and they said to write it down...

which I did - but then I really woke up!!!

My wife also had dream that night about protecting me from a sinful
situation/attack, where she had to cover my head/eyes. Thank You, Lord,
for a WONDERFUL wife that covers me in protective prayers.  Thank you for the provision of the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, the ministry of His church.

Eph 1:22-23   And hath put all [things] under his feet, and gave him [to be] the head over all [things] to the church,   Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The basics of the dream (as I understood it to be):

1. Urgency to reach a specific group of people with the gospel

2. Difficulty along the way

     a. former resources not there (my truck missing)

     b. enormous obstacles (mountain climb)

     c. evil disguised as innocence  (small "child" in need of help)

     d. battle directly with a demonic presence

     e. dead ends (doors that led nowhere)

     f. confusion (random people giving me wrong directions)

3.  Destination: the fruits of His work at Calvary, from death to life

     a. massive sins, perversion, and hopeless depravity (walking dead)

     b. the preaching of the gospel in power

     c. protection in His body (Gretchen's dream)

     d. the revival, healing, and joy of new life in Christ!

2Cr 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds
should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Almost done....I woke up at five am that Sunday morning, very much compelled to
seek the LORD on what was going on. My thoughts were racing in so many
directions. I could not concentrate on finishing the sermon at all. There was something wrong in His church and I could not think through or sort out the confusion in my mind.  I eventually
ended up flat out on my basement floor with my face in the Bible; praying and
basically doing the same thing I did through the dream...Jesus...Jesus. I picked
up my head and started reading the page my face was pressed on - the prophet  Jeremiah, chapter 27 The
confusion dispersed and what seemed like many pieces to a puzzle that had
come together and with soundness of mind returned. Not my typical Sunday morning.

Jam 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Jam 1:6   But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

 The message was very
specific and very clear that our national economic and political troubles were
affecting the body of believers... and so...

The message for your encouragement and exhortation.

2Ti 1:7   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We are not called to fear but to faith. We are not to be overcome with fear, uncertainity ,
and doubt, but to overcome evil with good

Jer 27:6   Jer 27:6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king
of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

We are not called to complain, but to give thanks; not to fraggle
and fret,
but to pray. We are to recognize the offices of government with
respect and honor, not trash talking.

Jer 27:14   Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

In challenging times, our focus can tend to
be drawn to the trouble around us; it is then we sink into and become part of
the very thing we are focused on. The Spirit is grieved and sin infiltrates. The temptation in difficult times is to
quickly "run to Egypt" to the strength of man with very little or no consideration
for the wisdom or the capability of God.

Jer 42:19   The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt:
know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

Our work is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
That is where the
true power and resource for healing and revival will come from - for us and our nation.

Mat 28:19-20   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

To do this we must preach in Spirit and power...

1Cr 2:4 And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

We must lay hold of the resources in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Here is the teaching from Romans chapter six that I presented that day (after this dream). If this dream meant anything it was to convey the resources we have in Christ....

Jer 42:6 Whether it be good, or whether it be evil (displeasing), we will obey the voice of the
LORD our God
, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
