John 4:34  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Ministry of the Word....

Hbr 4:12   For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Ministry of Baptism....

Congratulations Jakayla, Brice, Stephen, Patrick, and Eric on your water baptism and for declaring to the world that you are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ... For it is the POWER unto salvation unto those who believe!

Mat 28:17-20   And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

Ministry of ... When can we go SWIMMING?????

We are grateful for the help of a wonderful lifeguard - Thanks Heather!
Thank you also for teaching us cool new swim moves!

Proverbs 4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; let [her] not go: keep her; for she [is] thy life.

Ministry of fishing....

Thank you Lord for making a way for Chris (right) to be here at camp this year. He is a faithful fisherman and friend. His fishing ministry kept the fish moving from the lake to the frying pan!  Learning how to filet a fish is just as important as landing one!  Fabriciano is a quick learner and a fine young man whom is perfectly loved by God.

Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Special Guests...

 The  legendary CAPTAIN CRAIG....

Some how Captain Craig eluded the cameras but many eye witnesses can account for his presence and his mighty deeds.  He was an instant legend and we are grateful for the outdoor skills he shared with us and his willingness to help with camp in many ways.

- Nature lessons, plant identification, flint fire starting

- Canoe methods, saftey and survival skills

Many wild stories were circulating in the camp during the Capn's visit.  Some true - some imagined.  See if you can select the correct answer (true or false)

1. Captain Craig arrived to camp via a parachute (T or F)

2. Captain Craig slept under a canoe on the lake shore at night (T or F)

3. Captain Craig  can fly an airplane (T or F)

4. Captain Craig always sleeps with one eye open - and always his left eye (T or F)

5. Captain Craig has an airboat which can travel through swamps, marshes, even frozen lakes! (T or F)

6. Captain Craig swims with his boots on (T or F)

9. Captain Craig can survive from forest foods (T or F)

10. Captain Craig's legend lives on in a special song written by his camp friends (T or F)

Answers:

1.  False.  Although he does pilot his own plane, he chose other methods to arrive at camp.

2.  True.  An eyewitness discovered the captain's crib was a beach of smooth rocks, a canoe, and a soft lake breeze.

3. True.  Cap'n has been flying for years, and even has been known to fly his wife to other states just for pancakes.

4. Unknown.  But we like to think so.

5. True.  I dont think it is ever a question of can he get there - just when.

6. True.  I Saw this for myself.

7. False.... just kidding - of course he can! TRUE- lint is one great tinder for camp fire starting.

8. True.  A fine family and great people to know!

9. True.  This is an important skill and great care must be taken to only eat the right things.

10. True. On the last night of camp, a song was developed that echo'd through the lodge and out into the wood...

"Captain Craig"

Chorus

Captain Craig, we love Captain Craig.... repeat

Verse

He is the man that sleeps under the stars

Better than a ranger

Though he doesn't seem a stranger

Verse

He is a man that swims in his boots

Better than a wal-mart

The forest fills his shopping cart

Ministry of Camp Classics....

The 'human pipe' game - A Matt and Will Rice tradition!
God Bless Matt and Will as they start college this year...

The Bell tower.  Who has'nt rung the bell yet? Meeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine a camp without crafts? Oh My! Dont even try!  Thank you Lord for Patty Selva.  Her creative genius and shared talent brings glory to God!  On the shores and in the lodge you can paint, glue, glitter, twist, imagine and SMILE!

There were many rocks painted. I brought home a bunch to put on my stairs to remind me of camp every time I enter my house.  Each rock represents a kid to pray for!  Notice the alligator made of 3 cleverly chosen rocks - nice job Josh!

Hey whats camp without a theme?  uhhh... there was a theme?

The camp theme this year was the 'church' and understanding what or rather WHO that is.
The cabins were churches named after the churches of revelation. The cabin leaders were pastors and church leaders. They gave tirelessly of themselves and fruit was in abundance!

God blessings to the church leaders Kyle, Matty, TJ, Dave, Brianna, Ally, Mindy and Kelsey.

                                                        Eph 1:19-23

And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power...
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places]...
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all [things] under his feet, and gave him [to be] the head over all [things] to the church,

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The Blood Trail....

Remember the blood trail and bridges of faith?  We walked through the trail that was marked off with blood red markers. We stopped at each bridge and covered a verse from the romans road which begins with Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." The blood trail winded through the woods with many dangers on either side (poison ivy, choke cherries, ravines, horse flies and foxes). The path is narrow and sometimes turns when it seems like we should continue in the direction we are going. The trail represents following Jesus. Its a trail of blood because its a trail that he has cleared for us with his sweat and blood so we can walk through free and clear from the power of sin. He has built bridges of faith for to cross the ravines of impossibilities that come along the way. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  On this web page all of the bible verses are in blood red italics , His Word was given to us to produce faith, our trail guide to stay on the trail of blood. Our trail led to a fruit tree (pears). Following the Lord always leads to fruitfulness....

Jhn 15:7-9   If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

Fruit Finders..

Remember the "fruits" that you had to find. Each group did very well at this! Fruits come in all sorts of shapes and textures. The flesh of an apple or cucumber is its fruit, but did you also know that the hooks on a burdock pod, as well as the feathers on a thistle are fruit?  It makes sense when you understand what the purpose of fruit is.

The purpose of fruit is to lay its life down for the seed, to deliver and nourish the seed so new life can come forth. Fruit is crushed, chewed, digested, kicked, blown, floated, and dropped - thats OK- as long as it gets the seed started - SUCCESS!  No better example is there then the body and blood of Jesus Christ.  This fleshy material that God wrapped himself in likewise had a purpose, and that is to deliver the seed, the Truth, so new life can come forth in you and me.

Jhn 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Rom 10:8-9   But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

When this seed of Truth is established in our hearts it begins its work to grow and grow, before you know it you are producing the same fruit from the seed that was planted in you!

2Cr 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Jhn 1:12   But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name

Love - sweet - black berries, pears, apples

Joy - exploding - pine cone, impatiens

Peace- Veggies, corn, peas (a little help from camp kitchen)

Patience - Hard thick shell - float water months - Walnut

Kindness - Grain, wild rice, sharing, gleanings - provision, hospitality.

Goodness - Fat, acorns - sustains, nourishes.

Faithfulness- Hitchhikers, burdock

Gentleness - air born - dandelion

Self Control - precision flight - maple seed - airplane wing - guided flight

Understanding the fruits of LOVE is as if you were studying a picture of God himself. The full spectrum of His LOVE is a life long and life changing study!

1Jo 4:8   He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.

1Jo 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1Cr 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

We tried something different this year, we ended the junior camp on Wednesday night and let the young ladies and gentlemen who served have a break and enjoy the camp for the remainder of the week (till fri morn). This worked very well!

Dear beloved,

I hope you enjoyed 2009 summer camp - I welcome your comments on camp as we are always eager to be "wise in what is good" (rom 16:19).
